For all fans of motorsport last weekend marked the Moscow stage of the Superbike World Cup at the Moscow raceway from Friday through to Sunday. For the second year running General Invest was fully engaged in the event and continued its tradition of support for the Italian team, Red Devils Roma.
General Invest and the Red Devils Roma collaborated successfully for a second year with the aim of promoting motorsports and in particular, Italian motorsports in Russia, which is very pleased to welcome a competition of such significance. In Moscow the team was represented by the young and talented racer Michel Fabrizio - the hope of Italian and world motorsports who since recently joining the team has improved time after time.
The competition’s first race day was affected in no small way by the weather conditions, causing a number of significant accidents out on track. However, according to new rules that came into effect this year, weather changes are not sufficient to stop the race. During the first race, Michel Fabrizio the Red Devils rider, supported by General Invest, managed a 5th place finish having started 15th, a great result considering the punishing rainy weather. Race 1 was the last of the day because of a tragic accident that took the life of a young Italian racer from the Kawasaki team, which subsequently brought a halt the Superbike World Cup.
Motorsport is one of the most risky and injury prone sports. Nevertheless due to its intensity of emotion, spectacle and attendance it is one of the most popular sports in the world. For General Invest the support and development of sports projects aimed at strengthening Russian-Italian relations has become a tradition, both in Russia and in Europe. Popularization of motor racing and representing it’s teams is an important part of cultural and sport development in any country and helps to establish closer relationships.
